THE FRENCH SPACE COMMAND HACKATHON

DefInSpace is an innovative hackathon that brings together creative and passionate minds around a unique challenge: to imagine solutions for the space defense of tomorrow — in just 24 hours. Created by the French Space Command in 2021 and organized by CréaNative agency for the 2025 edition, this event offers participants the opportunity to work in teams and bring fresh, disruptive perspectives to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

The 4th edition of the hackathon will take place on October 10-11, 2025.

SPACE INNOVATIONS

DefInSpace aims to promote the search for innovative solutions in support of the Space Command’s mission of space control and to enhance its visibility. This hackathon reflects the CDE’s determination to demonstrate that certain military space challenges can be addressed in an agile and collective manner through the proposed challenges.

OUR KEY OBJECTIVES:

Increase visibility at the national, European, and international levels
Promote the French space defense strategy
Create synergies around topics related to space superiority within the broader context of security and defense issues

DEFINSPACE’S PRIZE

The two winning teams of this 4th edition of the DefInSpace Hackathon will be rewarded with an extraordinary prize: a visit to the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana! An unforgettable journey awaits.

The DefInSpace 2025 award ceremony will take place during the Grand Finale in Paris, on November 28.

French Space Command

PROJECT OWNER

The French Space Command is a joint organization under the command of the Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces for capabilities, cooperations, and operations and under the command of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force for operational readiness, organization and skills generation. The French Space Command was created in 2019 by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron and the Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, to implement the new Defense Space Strategy.

Agency

PROJECT MANAGER

The French Space Command has commissioned CréaNative agency to organize the 4th edition of the DefInSpace Hackathon. Founded in 2019 by Elodie Masi, CréaNative is a human-centered and creative communications and event agency. The agency has collaborated with various public sector players, including RATP, and is an expert in organizing hackathons.
